Faithfulness

Like a swallow appealed by the warmth of a world
Carried by a strange wind in which I often whirled
With no look at the ground that was so far below
I once reached an Eden no map will ever show.

There, the sky and the sea merged into the same blue
Where the diamond flakes that a magician blew
Shined like thousands of fires – jewels full of secrets,
And vanished suddenly when the words became threats.

In this vague horizon thunderstorms never reach,
I flew over this sea so limpid and so rich
‘Till I saw thru the blue, still far in the distance
Standing out the Island, in a gleam, so intense.

Hypnotized by the light, my soul started to sing.
Thus I tamed the mild wind which led my tired wing.
I discovered the shape of this generous land
And got rest for a while on its warm fine gold sand.

Surprisingly inspired by the peace of the place,
Touched by unuttered words and a smile on a face,
I realized how dear was to me the moment
Spent on the curious land I’d reached by accident.

The Island is not far, in the palm of a hand
Attentive, sensitive and which does not pretend.
There I’d burry treasures that I find on my way
And sing you my last song before I fade away.

Put a star in my sky to guide my flight to you
If my name you whisper, I will fly back to you.
